The St. George City Council on April 7 adopted a proclamation declaring April 11, 2026, as Walk With Autism Day in the city. The proclamation, read at the start of the meeting, called for "acceptance over awareness, inclusion over isolation, and community over stigma," and encouraged residents to support individuals on the autism spectrum and their families.
Walk With Autism representatives who accepted the proclamation said the event will be held at Rocky Vista University from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. "Last year, we did have 900 people in attendance," one representative said, and volunteers and local resources will staff roughly 65 information booths. "We walk with autism every day," the speaker added, urging broad community participation.
Councilmembers posed for photos with the presenters and offered a city copy of the proclamation. Councilmembers and staff reiterated outreach and inclusion goals for the event and encouraged attendance and volunteer support.
