During the Jan. 13 meeting Kevin Cole presented the SEK Interlocal #637 report, saying the interlocal continues to have staffing challenges mirroring those at USD 506. Cole told the board that state categorical aid remains unknown, complicating planning for shared services, and that USD 506 needs to fill five SEK Interlocal vacancies for the 2025–26 school year.
Cole said the interlocal will send a board evaluation for review in February and that it is revising coordinator and administrator responsibilities. The board did not vote on SEK Interlocal matters at the meeting but was informed of the open vacancies and expected next steps.
