Henry County adopts ordinance limiting outdoor storage of tires

County Attorney George Lyle and staff presented a proposed ordinance regulating outdoor storage of tires, including limits by zoning type (e.g., no more than 20 tires outside in agricultural, commercial, industrial or government special-use zones for more than 48 hours; no more than five tires in residential zones). The ordinance also lists exemptions such as temporary storage for community clean-ups and properly permitted activities.
Chairman Adams opened a public hearing; no one spoke. On a motion by Mr. Lawless and seconded by Mr. Dillard, the Board adopted County Ordinance 10-306.2 by unanimous vote. The ordinance references enforcement and penalty procedures already established in County Ordinances 10-320 and 10-315.
