Henry County awards detention food and inmate lab contracts, extends industrial-park turf contract

County Administrator Dale Wagoner presented procurement recommendations for detention services and grounds maintenance. The Board awarded a contract to J.L. Culpepper & Company, Inc. to supply food for the Henry County Adult Detention Center (the FY2027 budget has allocated $730,000 for inmate food) and awarded inmate laboratory services to LabCorp Holdings, Inc., noting the FY2027 budget includes $90,000 for those services.
Separately, Tim Pace, Director of Engineering and Mapping, requested and the Board approved an extension with Prillaman Landscape Dimensions, Inc. for turf mowing and maintenance at Commonwealth Crossing Business Centre and Patriot Centre Industrial Park through Dec. 31, 2026; staff said rebidding in the middle of peak mowing season would likely be more expensive. The motions passed unanimously.
