During new-business discussion Dec. 18, Superintendent Milt Dennison told the Skamania School Board the district intends to transition bus maintenance to Camas School District because of lower costs and a closer facility. Dennison said Camas asks for 60 days' written notice to terminate an interlocal agreement and that Mt. Pleasant is satisfied with Camas’ maintenance services.
Board members asked whether the arrangement would be a formal interlocal agreement or an informal arrangement; Mr. Dennison did not specify which form would be used at the meeting. No formal motion to execute an interlocal agreement was recorded; the item remained a discussion and staff were asked to provide details as the district explores the change.
