The Plymouth Planning Commission met Aug. 26 to continue editing the draft town plan and set a near-term path for finalizing data and maps before a public hearing. Chair (speaker 2) opened the session by saying, “The purpose of this meeting is to keep reviewing and tweaking the town plan so we can get it adopted as quickly as possible.”
Staff reported that GIS access is being set up to update parcel counts, conserved-land totals and map layers and asked for time to plug corrected data into the draft. “My computer is literally being set up for me to be able to change these. I just need access to GIS,” the staff member said, noting the plan’s current parcel totals and acreage figures came from prior GIS runs or local notes and will be reconciled.
Commissioners flagged multiple places where numbers and direct quotes could not be verified in public sources and asked staff to either provide citations or remove them. The group agreed to strip an outdated quote and to replace range phrasing like “the past 10 years” with explicit year spans so the text does not become ambiguous in future readings.
The commission requested an edited clean copy for a final review; staff said she would circulate a cleaned version and photos/maps and the commission discussed a short follow-up meeting to approve the draft for a hearing schedule. The meeting closed with members asking staff to confirm data-driven changes before the public-notice process begins.
