Prospective commissioner recommended; nonprofit leader offers to help outreach

At the Nov. 11 meeting the Planning Commission met with two community members interested in contributing to town planning: Joe Keil, who seeks appointment to the Planning Commission, and Roxanne Vought, who offered to help with outreach around the Town Plan revision.
Joe Keil described a background in financial services and current remote work for a software company and said he moved to Weybridge from Maine with his wife, Katrina James. The commission indicated it will recommend him to the Selectboard for appointment. The appointment itself is made by the Selectboard.
Roxanne Vought, Executive Director of Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility, relayed comments from a recent Selectboard discussion that past outreach during the previous revision failed to draw participation and left some residents feeling excluded. She offered to act as a community liaison and suggested using Front Porch Forum to improve notice and attendance for meetings and information sessions.
The commission will follow up with Selectboard members Megan Sutton and Kelly Flynn to confirm their interest in participating in the revision process and will incorporate outreach planning into the committee’s work if the grant is awarded.
