Project staff described materials as matching existing Parks & Recreation maintenance buildings: metal trim, cement footings, rat wall and T1-11 siding rather than brick to control cost. A staff member said the MEDC grant covers the project so it will not draw on general tax funds: "It really is no cost to our general tax funds," a project representative said. Council asked that the contractor be mindful of aesthetics and long-term maintenance.
