City reports $1.76 million in CDBG expenditures; CAPER submission to HUD due next Friday

City staff presented the Program Year 2023 Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) and said the city expended $1,755,282 during the reporting year across administration, road projects (including West Point/Syracuse subdivision and Maguire Street), park projects (Homestead, Rotary, Heritage Park) and housing rehab and public services programs.
"In the last fiscal year, we expended $1,755,282," the presenter said, adding final financials and drawdowns will be completed and submitted to HUD by Friday the 27th. Staff also noted public‑service recipients such as the Guidance Center, Fish and Loaves, and the Senior Alliance were funded through CDBG public services allocations; the council opened and closed the public hearing with no public speakers on the CAPER.
