The Tangipahoa Parish Council on July 13 read and certified the canvass for the June 27, 2026 special election on renewing a four-mill ad valorem tax to fund parish health units.
The clerk announced the official totals: 7,509 votes IN FAVOR and 5,528 votes AGAINST; the council then adopted T.P. Resolution No. R26-19 to canvass and declare the election results (motion by Louis Joseph, seconded by Darrell Sinagra). No council action beyond adoption of the resolution was required.
The renewal covers a ten-year levy beginning with tax year 2027 and running through 2036; the resolution had been published in full at WWW.TANGIPAHOA.ORG prior to passage.
