Human Resources Director Courtney Kennedy presented a comprehensive rewrite of the City of Kings Mountain Personnel Policy, which the council unanimously adopted as Resolution 26-09. Kennedy said the updated policy aligns with current laws including the ADA, USERRA and FLSA, clarifies roles and strengthens procedures to reduce organizational risk.
The revisions included specific post-presentation changes: clarified restrictions on unauthorized passengers in City vehicles for approved programs and activities, designation of Natural Gas as a safety-sensitive area under Visitors in the Workplace, and addition of Skyla Credit Union for credit union membership options. Councilmembers voted unanimously to adopt the revised policy as presented.
