Staff said the Transportation System Plan outreach event on June 25 (Music in the Pines) drew good attendance and diverse input; an online open house remains available and staff provided flyers and a QR code for residents to leave comments. “We were at Music In The Pines on June 25. We had pretty good attendance,” a staff member said.
On active projects, staff reported Habitat for Humanity is advancing applications for the third and fourth lots in an approved affordable‑housing subdivision, a second fiber‑optic building has been proposed for a lot south of the former bowling alley, and staff will soon schedule a public hearing for the La Pine Community Kitchen project, which includes an exceptions request related to community services and mixed‑use rules. Staff noted some other commercial proposals remain on hold pending market or extension requests.
Staff directed residents to the city’s website for planning applications, agendas and minutes and suggested checking it weekly for updates. The commission did not take formal action on these informational updates.
