Harvey County's sales-and-use tax receipts for December rose sharply compared with the prior year, Assistant County Administrator/Finance Director Shannon Kingsley reported to the commission on Jan. 6.
Kingsley said sales tax collections were up about 16.5% for the month and about 2.9% year-to-date compared to the same periods last year, and she distributed detailed multi-year spreadsheets showing quarterly and annual totals. The agenda packet includes tables showing monthly collections and percent changes; staff noted that the county's 2026 budget had considered higher insurance premiums and other cost increases when planning.
