Taylor City Council approved a 120-day extension of the due-diligence period for the sale of several parcels to Soar Restaurants LLC so the developer could finalize site access off Telegraph Avenue.
Mayor and planning staff credited the planning department and MDOT discussions with resolving an entrance/exit alignment issue. The mayor said the project will be a Sonic restaurant; staff and council members praised planning staff for their work negotiating access. The motion to extend the due-diligence period passed by voice vote.
What's next: the buyer will continue due diligence and return to council if further approvals or site-plan changes are required; the council verified that permitting and final site plan review remain necessary steps before construction can proceed.
