County Administrator Jim Grafton described neglected landscaping in front of the County Office Building and presented three bids: Heritage ($13,900), Corn Crib (about $14,000) and Curb Appeal ($16,800). "I am looking for approval not to exceed $16,843," Grafton said; the committee approved the project by voice vote.
Grafton noted differing scopes among bids (Curb Appeal proposes added structures and concrete elements), flagged areas where mulch has degraded into dirt and said drainage issues may require coordination with the City of Rock Island. The county will choose among the approved bids based on desired appearance and any necessary drainage work.
