Commissioner Susan Lyons reported that the Sivright gravestone in Village Cemetery has fallen and documented the required work and estimated costs for repair. "It will need a new foundation - the base will need to have the old setting compound cleaned off and the stone will have to be cleaned also," Lyons said; the minutes list an estimated figure between $1,500 and $1,700 to do the work.
The commission discussed moving the stone base while a new foundation is poured and agreed staff should contact the family to determine their wishes and any contribution toward repair costs. Lyons said she spoke with David Moran and would pass the estimates along to the family. No formal allocation of commission funds or contractor selection occurred at the meeting; the item remains pending family input and contractor cost confirmation.
