The commission discussed alternatives for the Meadow Street water-line project, including running the line under the railroad. Bill Storti confirmed that the railroad granted permission to go under the tracks per the current design, and commissioners said design work shows two lines could run at Pentecost with a minimum four-foot separation. The Town Meeting passed an article earmarking $150,000 for the Meadow Street new water line.
Commissioners warned that changing the project location or priorities would require a new, full engineering survey; that reengineering could make the town forfeit about $46,700 already spent on engineering. The commission noted Weston & Sampson and Daniel Marchard are awaiting a certificate of insurance from CDS Electrical Engineering before progressing on the MCC electrical-panel work connected to the project procurement process.
