46 Maple pays six-year balance; commission orders inspections for recent connections

The Northfield Sewer Commission on May 27 recorded that 46 Maple Street paid a six-year outstanding balance; the treasurer deposited the check on May 26. Chair Karen Boudreau said the payment was logged in the old billing book and an account number had been assigned in the legacy system.
Commissioners discussed two other houses connected within weeks of the Maple Street hookup (around June 2016) and identified a new house on East Street that has not yet been inspected for a sewer connection. The commission asked staff to attempt to locate contractor and owner contact information and directed Chair Boudreau to send letters requesting access. Commissioners also noted that the Verizon building at 79 Main is not listed in the Vadar accounting system and agreed to obtain the Ridge address and perform a dye test; Chief Operator Isaac Golding will conduct the dye test to confirm connections.
