The Whitingham Selectboard voted July 8 to set the 2026–27 municipal tax rate at $0.5999 per $100 of assessed value and the local agreement rate at $0.0017, for a combined municipal/local rate of $0.6016 per $100. Treasurer Marylee Putnam presented the calculation and provided a supporting spreadsheet showing the figures and a comparison to last year.
Putnam also reported the Vermont Department of Taxes' Fiscal Year 2027 education tax rates: a Non-Homestead rate of $1.1145 (down from $1.293 last year) and a Homestead rate of $1.1142 (last year $1.1001). The treasurer noted the projected combined residential/school rate would be about 1.7158. The board approved the municipal and local agreement rates on a motion by Chair Scott M. Reed, seconded by Lyman (Skip) Tefft. The action was recorded as approved unanimously.
