Staff reports progress on Chimes View Drive water-line testing; one test still pending

John Anscombe updated the council on water-line work at Chimes View Drive, saying crews have completed two of three required tests and are preparing to execute the final tie-in and bacteriological test. He described the method — running a pig through the line, rechlorinating and waiting 24 hours before retesting — and said the city uses a certified lab (ChemTek) for analysis.
"We did the tie in over the veteran so that was all done currently going... they're doing some services on the top end... as we move forward, we've got two of them passed, another one we are struggling with to get it passed at this point," Anscombe said. He told the council that hot soils and summer conditions were complicating test results and that crews are working nights and weekends when needed to meet testing schedules.
Staff said they aim to open one lane to ease traffic pressure as soon as tests pass; no specific completion date was given, and Anscombe asked for council patience as the city follows required lab certification and rechlorination procedures.
