The Amherst Historical Downtown Design Review Board met on July 16, 2026, and approved two storefront design applications: a painted mural for Park Lanes Bar and Grill (249 Park Avenue) and awning and paint-color changes for Game Day Tavern (223 Church Street). Both approvals were made by voice vote and included conditions: the mural requires final sizing and permit sign-offs with the building and park departments, and the awning approval requires the upstairs windows remain unchanged.
The chair opened the meeting, noted one member (Jim Yorks) was unable to attend but had offered comments, and moved through the agenda. After the approvals the board confirmed there were no preliminary reviews or old business and scheduled the next meeting for Thursday, Aug. 13, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. Committee member (S3) moved to adjourn and the chair seconded; the meeting ended shortly after 6:06 p.m.
