Inspector Ricky Wright presented case 25-006036 (826 Ballinger), saying the property showed incomplete interior renovation after a stop-work order, utilities inactive since Oct. 29, 2024, and hazardous electrical/plumbing. Staff recommended the owner provide a plan of action within 30 days and obtain necessary permits; if submitted, staff recommended 60 days to obtain rough inspections and full final inspections by permit expiration.
During discussion, a staff speaker noted the permit application was not approved originally because the property is in a floodway and an engineering signature/form was not submitted. Board members accepted the staff recommendation; Tankersley moved and Wyatt seconded the motion, which passed on roll call.
The board recorded the order and directed the owner to submit the plan and required engineering paperwork so staff can determine whether demolition or repair is appropriate.
