Council recognizes JCATS swimmers and APWA award winners

The council recognized Johns Creek Aquatic Team swimmers and presented American Public Works Association Georgia chapter awards to staff for the Haines Bridge Road intersection improvement project and to Jason Neely (Supervisor of the Year).
The council paused its agenda on Aug. 19 to recognize the Johns Creek Aquatic Team (JCATS). Dylan, who led the presentation, thanked coaches and invited swimmers to receive certificates and photographs with the mayor and council.
Assistant City Manager Bennett reported that the city and partners won multiple APWA Georgia chapter awards: the Haines Bridge Road intersection improvement earned Transportation Project of the Year in the $1 million–$5 million category, and the city shared an award with Duluth for the Rogers Bridge pedestrian project. Bennett also recognized Ricky Forney and his team for project management and Jason Neely as the Chapter's Supervisor of the Year for his work in field services.
