Planning commission unanimously recommends approval of 'Blast First Addition' subdivision in Cass Township

Commissioners discussed that the subdivision request is driven by the property owner’s desire to build an additional building. Because the parcels are zoned C2 (Highway Commercial) and abut residentially zoned property, the commission noted a 50-foot setback requirement in the Jones County Zoning Ordinance and said the owner seeks to move the lot line to comply with that requirement.
A motion by Commissioner Keith Stamp, seconded by Commissioner Kris Doll, recommended approval of the preliminary and final plats to the Jones County Board of Supervisors. The vote was recorded as Janine Sulzner—aye; Tim Fay—aye; Kris Doll—aye; Keith Stamp—aye; Lowell Tiedt—aye. The motion carried unanimously.
The recommendation will be forwarded to the Jones County Board of Supervisors for final consideration. The commission noted no amendment or conditions were recorded in the meeting minutes; the board’s action and any conditions will be the deciding step for the subdivision to proceed.
