Police Chief Stigall reported to the council that recent changes at the Pacific County Jail have been beneficial to the City of South Bend and that the department has been assured that jail space is and will be available if needed. The chief characterized the development as a benefit to local operations.
Stigall also updated the council on an ATM fraud investigation being conducted with a local bank. He said positive results have been returned from the State Crime Lab and that investigators are working to close the case. Councilor Williams asked about a local matter during the council-comment period and the chief said the matter was in hand.
