Travis Cornell, Butler County Facilities Management Director, told the Board the detention center’s rooftop units (RTUs) and energy recovery ventilators (ERVs) "are beginning to fail and are in need of replacement," and outlined a plan to replace several units each year until all units are renewed. He said the work is part of an ongoing HVAC replacement program intended to spread replacements over multiple fiscal years.
Commissioner Darren Jackson moved to authorize the Innovative Groups contract for RTU replacement and controls at the Detention Center; Commissioner Kelly Herzet seconded the motion and it carried 5-0. The Board did not specify contract dollar amounts in the verbal record provided at the meeting.
