Board schedules hearing after staff alleges violations at an auto-repair site

County staff told the Board of Zoning Appeals that a previously approved special-use permit for an auto repair facility (SUSE 4172022, approved Nov. 2, 2022) appears to be out of compliance with multiple permit conditions.
Cindy Jones presented photos showing unregistered vehicles stored on the property and a fence that was not completed. Jones said some recent photos indicated a screen had been put up on the fence but that the presence of multiple unlicensed vehicles remained a concern. "For me, I think we hold a public hearing in order to revoke the special use permit for failure to comply with the conditions," Jones said, clarifying that the board would first hold a hearing where the owner could explain compliance before any revocation vote.
Building and Zoning staff confirmed they had sent letters and attempted contact for roughly two years and that an email with photos arrived shortly before the meeting. Board members asked staff to assemble aerial/GIS imagery and historical photos for the upcoming hearing. A motion to schedule the hearing next month passed on voice vote; staff will present the compiled record at that hearing.
