Marshall County sets March 25 public hearing on FY27 property tax levy

The Marshall County Board of Supervisors voted 3–0 on March 11 to set a public hearing on the FY27 proposed property tax levy for March 25, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. in the Marshall County Courthouse, 1 East Main Street, Marshalltown.
Auditor/Recorder Nan Benson told the Board that moving the hearing to a 5:00 p.m. start was intended to make it easier for members of the public to attend. Vice Chair Carol Hibbs moved to set the hearing; Member Christian Goodman seconded the motion, which Chair Jarret Heil called carried 3–0.
The Board authorized the Auditor and Recorder to publish notice of the public hearing as required. Interested members of the public will be able to address the Board at that hearing; the Board will consider public input before any final levy decision is adopted.
