Faith group asks Balch Springs council to partner on domestic-violence awareness events

Susan Battle Williams of True Believers of Christ Community Church asked the council to partner with her group to raise awareness about domestic violence and to participate in upcoming events.
Williams said the group runs a roundtable in September that will include the Dallas District Attorney and licensed social workers and plans a "purple butterfly" awareness tee event in October. She asked the mayor or a city representative and police/fire personnel to speak and asked that the events be added to the city's community calendar.
City staff thanked Williams and said they would follow up after the meeting to coordinate. Council members encouraged the group's outreach and the city's participation in community education and resources.
