Councilors say Washington Terrace senior center review is ongoing; board directed staff for more work

Council members reported updates on county‑level deliberations over senior center funding and the status of Washington Terrace’s center. A council member who attended a recent Weber Human Services Board meeting said Washington Terrace scored well on geographic location but not at the top on staffing/operations criteria, and that the board asked staff to revisit the evaluation.
“The board directed staff to go back and do some more work. Their final decision will be this month in October,” the council member said, describing the board’s request for additional analysis and the plan to reconvene. Councilors said they hope keeping the Terrace Center open makes sense for residents in the southeast part of Weber County and that they will continue to engage with the county process.
City staff and councilors said they will monitor follow‑up meetings and report back to the council when the board reaches its determination.
