Commissioners discussed a 1953 colonnade addition and an enclosed entry but concluded the building's footprint remains similar to the original and voiced support for the nomination.
A motion to approve the letter of support (resolution R2020) was moved, seconded and passed by roll call. Staff indicated the planning department will send the signed resolution to the Texas Historical Commission under the Certified Local Government program as the commission's official opinion on the nomination.
The commission’s letter will accompany the Texas Historical Commission’s review of the National Register nomination; the commission did not place conditions on its support.
