The board accepted a full-price offer on the district property in Gunnison where buses are currently stored. Jake Sawyer told trustees the property was publicly listed for about two weeks and the district received a single full-price offer. "He said, I'll give you what you're asking for," Sawyer said, summarizing the buyer’s intent and the district’s next steps.
Sawyer explained the buyer will give the district until the end of July to move buses and equipment; the district plans to stage buses on a gravel area near Gunnison Middle School and Gunnison Elementary. Sawyer described likely work items the district will pay for (such as a cement apron and moving a power pole) and said the district will forgo fencing for now but may add cameras for visibility.
The board voted to accept the land sale agreement and directed staff to coordinate title, closing and relocation logistics.
