Sawyer said the approach is intended to let contractors already working in the district perform the additional work as change orders, potentially reducing mobilization costs. The board discussed scheduling so projects can be completed this summer, and trustees asked about coordination with Gunnison High's secure entry, which is near completion.
Staff will return with final bids and schedule details after engineering and pricing work concludes.
