The board reviewed and on several items approved policy updates intended to align district codes with state law and local practice.
Superintendent Trevor Squire summarized updates to IKF (allowing performing-arts participation to earn up to 0.25 credit per year, matching athletics), IKH (record-retention wording updates), and IK (driver’s-ed code updates). Jake and other staff presented a merged personnel policy (DCB) that consolidates two small, similar policies into a single, clearer policy. The board voted to accept the listed changes where action was requested.
Ralph described annual updates to IF and IFA (library and instructional materials selection) to reflect current code language; those changes were approved. The revised building-rental policy (DD) was introduced as a first reading with clarified definitions and fee schedules; principals will review and feedback will be collected before the February meeting for final action.
