Board members were briefed on the district’s computer-science grant during the recognition and reports portion of the Dec. 10 meeting.
"So, we're in our 5th year with the computer science grant. We were awarded a 150,000 to just start the year," Jake said, outlining that awards fund teacher stipends, technology purchases such as iPads, and incentives for teachers who incorporate computer-science principles into K–12 instruction. Jake added districts can apply for additional funds later in the year when carryover or reallocated funds become available.
Board members thanked staff for the program's continuity and the potential classroom impacts; no further board action was required.
