Facilities and construction updates showed progress across several projects: playgrounds at multiple schools opened (one Manti Elementary area still awaiting a drainage fix), shop and wrestling-room additions nearing completion, and new stadium/restroom work finished for the season. Project staff shared drone footage and a schedule for remaining turn-overs, with the new shop area expected in January and most work complete by the end of September.
Administrators reported an incident of vandalism at the Manti stadium early Sunday morning: "some kids kicked in the doors to the concession restrooms, ripped all the towel dispensers off, the toilet paper holders off... broke the mics, threw chairs, just made a big, big mess," Jake said. Video caught suspects; district maintenance staff installed temporary repairs and will replace speakers and some equipment after the season. Trustees discussed adding cameras funded through a safety grant to improve monitoring at fields and school buildings.
