EDC explains tax‑abatement compliance process and where to find actuals
Summary
Town staff told the Brownsburg Economic Development Commission that companies with tax abatements annually report investments, hires, and wages through a compliance review; staff take that information to Town Council and compliance reports appear in council packets (Ethan cited the second council meeting in April).

Ethan described the town’s process for tracking incentives: when a company applies for an incentive it provides estimates for investment, job counts and wages; after operations begin a business with a tax abatement must report actual investment and hiring annually through a compliance process.
"Those businesses that have received specifically a tax abatement will every year report on what they've invested, how many people they've hired, and what the wages are," Ethan said. He told commissioners that staff collect, review and present those compliance reports to Town Council (he cited a compliance report from the second Town Council meeting in April as an example).
