Mister Denny said 502 North Newark is a small boarded house in poor condition but secured. He described 204 West Brady as a larger substandard structure with an adjacent garage and said that certified letters have been accepted but the owners have not responded. "The address that we mailed the letters to are in Decatur," Denny said, noting those owners’ mailing addresses appear to be outside city limits.
Staff recommended prioritizing 204 West Brady because it sits in a more heavily populated area. Both items will be on next month’s agenda for further action or enforcement if owners do not engage.
