City staff announced the launch of a new water utility customer portal and provided step-by-step enrollment instructions for Grand Prairie residents. To enroll, the city said customers should visit www.paywaterbill.gptx.org, enter a new account number or click the "find my account number" link, and enter the statement balance from the prior two months to proceed. Alternately, residents may accept an emailed invitation from noreply_waterbilling@gptx.org and click the green "register" button to complete the enrollment form.
The announcement described several portal features: a guided tour accessed by clicking the taxi icon at the top right of the portal; options on the left to sign up for pre-authorized payments and on the right for paperless billing; a top-right balance check and a one-time payment button; and a billing page that shows payment history and statement history with printable statements. The city also explained that a one-time payment can be processed without logging in by selecting "1 time pay," and that to start move-in or move-out processes residents should click the appropriate button and follow the prompts. Once a valid account number and ZIP code are entered, the portal will display the current balance and payment options automatically.
The recorded announcement closed by encouraging residents to visit gptx.org for more information about the portal and other city services.
