Representatives of the Grand Prairie Arts Council said the organization will return to a full season of productions at the Uptown Theater in 2026 and previewed several shows and programs.
"Starting in March, we're gonna do 'The Prince of Egypt,'" said Matt Betts, chief operations officer of the Grand Prairie Arts Council. He also outlined summer and fall programming including 'Something Rotten' in June, a July children's camp called 'Dare to Dream,' a fourth annual Prairie Fest film festival in August, 'Jekyll and Hyde' in September and 'Puffs' in October. Betts said next year's holiday show will be 'Annie.'
Debbie Dobbs, chief financial officer, said the council recently closed a successful run of 'Anastasia' with record-setting weekend audiences above 200. She described the November gala as a one-night preview event that drew over 200 people and is used to launch next season ticket sales.
On children’s programming, the transcript records the one-week art camp fee as $175. The two-week theater camp fee appears in the transcript as "$3.75," which is likely a transcription or typographic error; the council also mentioned discounts for enrolling in both camps and for siblings. Betts directed people to artsgp.org for memberships (levels starting at $40 up to $500) and season-ticket information.
