The Alpine City Council voted to adopt the FY 2026 final budget, after a staff overview that highlighted revenue estimates and a list of proposed capital projects. Shane, the staff presenter, said the city anticipates property tax revenue a little over $2.7 million and sales tax near $2.2 million for the year.
Shane described a planned fire station addition and remodel as one of the larger capital projects and said the "anticipated cost is around $5,000,000," with $3,000,000 included in the proposed budget and a preliminary recommendation to bond for the remaining roughly $2,000,000. Council discussed RFP timing and directed staff to move forward with procuring a construction manager/general contractor and returning concept plans for council approval.
