SPID receives clean 2024 audit, board approves certification form

The Stansbury Park Improvement District board accepted Haney & Company’s 2024 financial audit and authorized the district’s financial certification for the state at its June 17 meeting. Nate Davis of Haney & Company told the board the independent auditor's report concluded: "In our opinion, the financial statements referred to above present fairly in all material respects the respective financial position..." and characterized the opinion as a clean, unmodified audit.
Davis also summarized required management communications: auditors had reported two immaterial instances of noncompliance (one missing board training certificate and one omission of Express-held funds from the state submission) and provided a letter to management. "We didn't find anything that needed to be reported" as a material weakness, he said. The board moved to accept the audit and the state certification form; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
Board members and staff stressed the items were minor and that management would follow up. The board asked staff to provide the signed representation letter to the auditor, and Haney & Company left the audit letter with the district for the record. The board took no further action beyond approval and filing of the audit and certification paperwork.
