Staff briefed the council on a required ODOT consent for programming the resurfacing of State Route 4 (also signed as SR‑235 through parts of the city). The presentation said ODOT will perform milling and paving across the full width of the roadway, restripe lanes and manage and inspect the work in 2027, with state funding covering the cost so there is no direct city expense.
Public Works staff described the item as an initial authorization to allow ODOT to schedule the project in its programming; staff said they will advise council when the project is scheduled on ODOT’s calendar. There were no questions and council consented to process the ODOT authorization.
Next steps: staff will return with scheduling information once ODOT confirms the project timing.
