Huber Heights city staff said Montgomery County has awarded the city $75,000 in EDGE funding to help retain a local employer and its workforce.
"We were awarded $75,000 in edge money from Montgomery County to help for QB as well... we're gonna be able to retain 77 jobs, with an average salary of $40,000, and this keeps them here in Huber Heights," City Manager John said during the work session. Staff indicated the company—identified in meeting materials and discussion with slightly varying spellings—requested the support to avoid relocation outside the city and county.
Council members thanked staff for pursuing EDGE funding and said the assistance fits into broader economic retention efforts. Finance staff later said the award will be advanced through the city’s edge fund and then reimbursed by the county as project expenses are documented.
Next steps: staff will include the EDGE grant budget entries on the consent agenda for the upcoming council meeting and said the city will track reimbursement after project invoices are submitted.
