Staff reports digitization of Domini map, privy inventory and SHPO submission, and schedules Sept. 1 joint work session

City staff told the board it is digitizing a hand-drawn Domini map for the historic district, developing an Appendix G list of small historic objects (privies, mounting blocks) and resubmitting code updates for an SHPO award; staff also asked board members to prepare for a Sept. 1 city-council joint work session on mixed use.
City planning staff updated the Architectural Review Board on multiple preservation and planning projects.
Staff said they are digitizing a hand-drawn Domini map of the historic district into a GIS resource that will allow users to click properties and view historical notes. They also said they are compiling an Appendix G listing of small historic objects, such as privies and mounting blocks, and plan to pursue State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) award recognition using code updates submitted in 2024. "We're going to take the code updates that we did in 2024 and the alternative material documents... we're going to repackage it and go for the SHPO awards," staff said.
Staff also reminded the board of a joint board-and-city-council work session on Sept. 1 that will focus on defining mixed-use areas and code updates; members were asked to prepare a brief year-to-date summary of projects and challenges for that meeting.
