Representatives from Lake Point Improvement District asked Stansbury Park to consider accommodating Lake Point sewage when the district next upgrades its treatment plant. "We would like to be considered to be...planned for that we could eventually send our sewage to you guys to treat," a Lake Point representative said, asking to be included in SPID’s expansion phasing.
District consultants and staff presented model projections showing current Stansbury Park 20‑year average growth and converted influent flows into equivalent residential units (ERUs). Consultant estimates projected the district’s next practical upgrade to approximately 2.7 million gallons per day (MGD) under base growth scenarios and suggested adding certain hard components now to ease a later step to 3.5 MGD. A full upgrade to meet more stringent phosphorus and ammonia treatment requirements was described in the discussion as costing in the order of magnitude of $15,000,000; consultants noted that whether Lake Point or other wholesale customers connect and whether they bond or reserve capacity by agreement will materially change timing, scale and the district’s funding model. The board agreed to pursue the impact fee facilities plan (IFFP) work, finalize a takedown/reservation schedule with wholesale customers, and meet with the state Division of Water Quality in October to verify permitting assumptions.
