Board agrees to pursue water-service extension for 2342 West Erta Way

Devore said the family's attorney is preserving a well agreement but she asked the district to consider extending water service to 2342 West Erta Way — roughly a 400–500 foot line from Palmer Road — and offered to pay for required fire hydrants and impact fees.
District staff explained the standard approach used on a prior project: require engineering plans, obtain contractor cost estimates for both an 8-inch and 12-inch line, set up a latecomer (reimbursement) agreement and collect impact fees and water rights as required. Staff estimated previous similar costs (the 12-inch and 8-inch lines for a comparable run were roughly $85,000 and $54,000 in an earlier project) and said the property may also need annexation or additional approvals depending on exact boundaries. The board moved to approve pursuing the same process used on the comparable Clay project and directed staff to return with formal engineering needs and cost breakdowns.
