The City of Hutto DEIB Commission approved a reallocation of $1,000 from the commission's resource-guide budget to fund a consultant's planned July visit to Hutto.
The decision followed a presentation by the commission's contracted consultant, who laid out plans to run working sessions, demonstrate listening-post procedures for the commission and its working-group leaders, and lead a three-hour training for new council and DEIB commissioners. The chair put the motion to reallocate $1,000 specifically “from the resource guide for the July visit,” and the commission approved the motion on a voice vote (members responded “Aye”).
Commissioners framed the reallocation as a limited, targeted use of an under-spent line to secure in-person support during a critical planning week. Stan, the consultant, told the group he would use the visit to “have an in depth working session at that DEIB Commission meeting to specifically work on the plan and the budget.” Staff and commissioners agreed to finalize dates and logistics ahead of the July sessions.
