Council declares aging response vehicles surplus, approves disposal

Huber Heights declared several city vehicles surplus on April 27, including a repurposed ambulance used as a critical-incident vehicle and a fire-medic vehicle that had reached its life expectancy. City staff said replacements are in place or already completed for these units and recommended disposal of the excess vehicles.
The council moved to adopt the surplus declaration and recorded a unanimous vote, 7–0. "We are disposing of 1 of our critical incident, vehicles, which is actually a repurposed, ambulance from the fire division," City Manager John Russell said while reviewing the item.
