Council schedules executive session; reports out collective bargaining agreement to be considered Monday

Near the end of the work session, Tony moved and council seconded a motion to enter executive session for two reasons: to prepare for or review negotiations with public employees about compensation and employment terms, and to consider confidential information related to marketing or financial statements of an economic-development applicant (which requires a unanimous vote). The roll call was called and the motion passed unanimously; the council recessed to executive session at about 6:51 p.m.
Council returned from executive session at approximately 7:47 p.m. and reported they would present legislation on Monday to approve a collective bargaining agreement with the patrol unit in the police division. Tony confirmed the collective bargaining item will be on Monday's agenda and there was no objection. Earlier in the meeting Tony also presented two board appointments (Sade Hedgecourt to Arts & Beautification Commission, term through 06/30/2029; Michelle Blair to Culture & Diversity Citizen Action Commission, term through 12/31/2028) and asked council to place them on Monday's agenda.
